last friday we did a photo shoot with nikki from doodle dog advertising and amy pittsinger from amy barry photography! i can’t express how truly talented these 2 ladies are! they made my cakes look like amazing and i can’t wait to add the pics to the site! if you are in need of a photographer for any occasion or advertising, branding or invitations these 2 are your go-to-gals!

January 5th, 2010working on 2 cute cakes this week, a 3d coors light beer can and a pink and brown baby shower cake. super excited to work on the 3d beer can since it will be my first one like it…always love a good challenge:) will post pics if i can ever get them to upload….why does it always say they are too big:(?!?!?!
hello kitty and flash addicts
December 3rd, 2009this weeks cakes are for a 7 year old’s birthday party and a future famous photographer turning 18. the 7yr. old came up with her own cake design. she wanted hello kitty holding a teddy bear. however, hello kitty HAD to be wearing pink pajamas with moons & stars and HAD to have yellow fuzzy slippers. ADORABLE and the cake come out pretty cute as well:) my other cake creation for the week is what i call the “camera cake.” its a 10″ round chocolate cake filled with caramel and chocolate buttercream. the cake will be decorated with white buttercream and a fondant Canon camera on top! I’m anxious to get started on the camera mold for this cake….should be interesting!

beer and fish anyone?
November 12th, 2009yep, that’s what we’ve got going on this week. a keystone light beer can and a charcoal grey colored fish…scales and all! each of the cakes were a unique challenge and are absolutely adorable. if we ever get a gallery going on this site, we’ll post some pictures:)
another baby bump cake for saturday. this one is for a little baby boy. color scheme: baby blue, brown, yellow, red and green….going to be adorable!

5 cakes this week, its the most i’ve done in a week. please keep in mind that i have a full time job and an hour commute each way. doing these cakes is what i do after work….i think it may be slowly killing me, but worth it in the end.
anyway, i have dean and klaire’s baptism cake for baby hailey…so sweet! there is the bridal shower cake for renee…zebra striped w/an eggplant and lilac bow! on to the 3 tiered tiki hut cake for randy’s 50th birthday…gonna be cool, hope to have pics of this up soon! then there is the keianna’s 13th birthday cake; turqoise, black and white…wish i got a cake like this for my 13th birthday! and last but not least, another 50th birthday cake for jennifer’s mom…its a 3 tiered halloween inspired cake, it is a very elegant halloween cake if i do say so myself:)
on a side note, my friend bodie, is working on some updates for the site. be on the look out soon for lots o’ pictures!!!

September 8th, 2009so, the circus cake was a huge hit! we made it all of the way down to Danbury with out a single issue with the cake:)
this week’s big adventure will be jim and natalie’s wedding cakes! jim’s is going to be a chocolate lover’s dream. it’s going to be a two tiered square cake chocolate w/caramel and dark chocolate buttercream filling….delicious! his cake will be topped with as many dark chocolate covered strawberries as i can fit on it! natalie’s cake is going to be a four tiered delight! the top three tiers are round with a stunning square tier at the base. the cake will be covered in white fondant with balls of fuschia hydrangea flowers scattered throughout…i can’t wait to see it finished! wish me luck on the flowers…i’ll post pics once i have them!
circus cake
September 2nd, 2009working on a circus cake this week! its addison’s 3rd birthday, there will be a clown, a life size pinata and of crouse a 3 tiered circus cake. can’t wait to get started:) fyi, lovin’ cake carousel off of 75 and arapaho…they keep me sane!
pimp hat and paisley
August 25th, 2009so this week we’ve got a LOT going on!
thursday we have a car wash themed cake due. i’m thinking white with blue fluffy/water accents. maybe a tunnel cut out of the top layer…thinkin’ about it.
friday is the pimp hat cake. purple pimp hat cake with a zebra print hat band and purple and green feathers….soooo can’t wait to work on this.
saturday is the black and white cake, each tier will be covered in white fondant with black scroll work and a bow. its going to be GORGEOUS!
sunday is the buttercup yellow with black paisley cake. i think we’re going to try and paint on the paisley instead of piping it….new adventures, gotta love ‘em.
i’ll post updates as i have them…right now its baking time. can’t wait to get started decorating!

k, so i’m revving up for a super busy week next week. next week i’ve got 2, 3 tiered shower cakes and a pimp hate cake! super excited about all 3. next week will be an exciting challenge, each cake presents its own obstacles…hey, but that’s the only way to get better!
baby ruby’s baby shower cake will be buttercup yellow with a black paisley pattern cascading around the front.
ashley’s wedding shower cake will be a 3 tiered classic beauty. the cake is based on the invitations. the cake will be covered in white fondant with each tier having black scroll work and a bow…precious!
diane’s pimp hate cake is going to be fabulous! a purple “pimp hat” with a zebra print hat band and the signature “pimp” feathers to finish it off.

searching and experimenting
August 18th, 2009so i’ve been searching for new creative ideas to use as inspiration for new cakes. what i really need is a signature cake! something that i can make when people ask for “the regular.” i’d like for it to be simple and elegant, something slightly cutting edge…but not too time consuming. if this will be the signature cake it has to be fairly simple so i can make multiple cakes per week to fulfill orders…oh, to dream.
